Wind&Kite surfing
Nin Beach Sabunike is one of the most famous windsurf spots in Croatia. Characterized by three winds “Bura”, “Jugo” and “Maestral”, each of which has its own charm.
“Bura” has a completely open path from the Velebit channel and often reaches speeds greater than 50 knots! “Jugo”, offshore wind, creating ideal flatwater conditions for speed testing of your boards. Warm summer thermal wind “Maestral” blows every day from 1pm to 6pm and gives you the opportunity of relaxed freeride.
The best thing is that the Nin Bay is closed on all sides so there is no danger that the wind carries you away to open sea. Sabunike is an ideal location for both experienced surfers, as well as for beginners who will be able to learn their skills in windsurfing school at the beach Sabunike. Spend your holidays actively and learn how to surf, we guarantee you’ll be back again next year in the windy Nin.
It is only You that are missing here
Access to the beach is assured from three sides, two directly from Nin and one from Sabunike, and you can come close to the sea by car. Parking is also provided on the beach.
The bottom is sand and a special attraction of Sabunike is a shallow sea, which in combination with the sandy bottom creates conditions that can be found only in the tropics. At distances up to 200 m from the sea coast is only 1m deep. Ideal conditions for freestyle because each failed trick ends with a nice beach start and instantly you are ready to try again.
Because of the shallow sea, the beach is the most attractive one in the Adriatic to learn Kitesurfing. During the “Bura” wind you will be driving parallel to the entire length of the beach, so you’ll never get out of the shallow zone; unless you want it.
An ideal place for kitesurfing
You wonder, what if I want to drive a formula, and it is so shallow? No problem. On the eastern side of the beach closer to Nin sea is deep enough for the formula and its 70 cm fin.
